Classic Stories Run Time: 00:01:15

About this Episode

What is the world’s fastest tractor? In 1934 it was the Allis Chalmers Model U. The record setting speed of 65.45 miles per hour was set by Ab Jenkins, a speed record that went unchallenged for 81 years. 34 of these tractors were built with a special transmission for speed. Allis Chalmers is known as the first company to put tires on it’s farm tractors. To be another first in racing, Allis Chalmers partnered with Firestone tire and Pennzoil to showcase what all three could do.
