About this Episode

A few years back our host Brian Baxter visited the Florida Flywheelers Show where he met Tom Crawford from North Carolina. Tom brought rare 1956 John Deere Model 60 LP Grove Tractor to the show. Only 45 of these John Deere Model 60 Grove tractors with LP gas were built. In the 1950’s many tractors were equipped to burn LP Gas because of the low cost of the fuel. In the 1950s a gallon of LP Gas might cost about 5 cents while a gallon of gasoline might cost you around 50 cents. Tom shares the story of his rare tractor and some history on grove and orchard tractors.
