John Braum from Wisconsin owns a 1939 Sears Economy. John shares the history of his tractor and the passion for collecting these uncommon classics. In the 1930’s the Sears, Roebuck & Company was working hard to become a player the the tractor business. They wanted to develop an efficient, reliable and cost competitive tractor. In 1937 the Peru Wheel Company of Peru, IL contracted with sears to do just that. Peru proposed using rebuilt tractor and transmission components from a Ford Model A with the frame and castings supplied by Peru. With this the Economy Tractor was born.
