About this Episode
One of the stars of the 2018 Lebanon Valley Indoor Classic Tractor Expo was this 1917 International Harvester 8-16 “slope nose”. These tractors got their name from the distinct hood design. The 8-16 was one of the Company’s first attempts to build a smaller “standard tread” or wide front tractor. The 8-16 was later replaced by the 10-20 and 15-30 McCormick-Deering around 1923 which became International’s line of standard tread tractors. Around the same time the Farmall Regular was replaced becoming the company’s first small row-crop tractor
Classic Tractor Fever Host Brian Baxter caught up with owner Elmer Gockley who shared the history and how he came to own this over 100 year old tractor in beautiful original condition.
