Why was this tractor a failure for John Deere?

Classic Stories Run Time: 00:06:26

About this Episode

When the John Deere 2010 was released in 1960, it had several problems which gave the tractor the reputation of being a lemon. Over the years that perception continued and few collectors want anything to do with the model.

Charles Stodden from Illinois read the history of the John Deere 2010 and was intrigued by its failure. When he had a change to buy a 2010 LP Gas version, he decided to buy it. After a few years of working on the tractor, he sent it to the Jansen Brothers Garage to finish the restoration. Charles shares the story of his 1963 John Deere Row-Crop LP Gas Tractor.
